The Electron-Ion-Collider (EIC) is a future, US-based experimental project dedicated to the structure of the nucleon and nuclei. I give an overview of the important scientific goals at the EIC. This includes the mass and spin structure of the nucleon, multi-dimensional tomography and the gluon saturation at small-x.
